Biography

I was born in raised in Los Angeles, but soon after college found my way to Seattle. While there I worked in the financial services industry and quickly grew a fondness for independent bands with a rockin sound. Seattle was great, but family, friends and new opportunities were elsewhere, so I left for San Francisco, where I have lived ever since. In my professional life I work as an investment advisor, but in my private life I enjoy music, movies and writing about technology online.

Interests

I watch way too much TV, but my favorite is Survivor and 24. I also enjoy checking out live bands.

Music

The older I get the broader my tastes, but deep down inside I keep coming back to good old American Rock n' Roll.

Movies

I've always had a weakness for dark comedies, especially ones where unexpected things happen. The kind of movie where there are no rules. Things like Pulp Fiction, The Big Lebowski and Groundhog's Day. I also like the entire horror genre, although my favorite sub-genre is the slasher flick. I love watching movies and talking about them with other people. Between my Netflix account and my TiVo, I am always discovering exciting new content.

TV Shows

I'd rather see a TV show than a movie and I'd rather see a half an hour show than an hour long program. TV shows are like viewing snacks, but movies are like meals. Sometimes, I will load up on TV series and then gorge myself. It takes away from some of the excitment, but it's an easier way to follow a series. I always make sure that at least one of my three Netflix movies contains a TV series. It's really neat that I can catch up on series that I missed growing up. Some of my favorite series that I have Netflixed have been Alias, the Sopranos, the X-Files (so awesome) and Survivor.

Books & Authors

Most of the books that I have read were pre-internet, but now all that I read is what I come across on the internet (which is a lot) Kurt Vonnegut always had an impact on me, as well as Shel Silverstein. I'm not sure where they will end up being classified in the pantheon of authors, but they knew an awful lot about life.
