Biography

Samuel Merrin is a writer-philosopher with a mild appreciation for cinema. Slightly banal, at times obsessive, and inherently unimpressed, Samuel Merrin is an artist of average-sized proportions. A graduate of San Francisco State University, and a product of San Francisco's fine public school system, Samuel Merrin is an aspiring novelist and an accomplished dog-walker. Samuel Merrin is adept at answering phones and reshelving library books, and has also been known to work a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet like it was going out of style. Samuel Merrin funds his writing habit (a habit which is neither productive nor profitable in its current stage) by picking up part-time and temporary jobs. Currently employed as a receptionist, Samuel Merrin has also spent time waiting tables and working in libraries. Writing, however, has always been his sincerest passion, and he hopes that it will some day pay his bills so that he doesn't have to spend all his time bringing other people theirs. Samuel Merrin's literary productions of choice are typically short stories, though he has dabbled in free-form poetry and the beginnings of a novel. The novel, in works since last millennium, is a coming of age tale of an adolescent girl and her experiences with murder and substantial intrigue (tentative title: "Anna and Murder and Intrigue") Samuel Merrin is also interested (slightly) in journalism, though he prefers fiction to non-fiction any day of the week.
